Jim Ka To withdrawn from Macau following qualifying crash

KCMG has announced to withdraw the entry of Jim Ka To for the remainder of the World Touring Car Cup weekend at Macau following his crash during qualifying yesterday.

The Honda Civic Type-R FK8 TCR driver came together with PWR Racing driver Robert Dahlgren going into Fishermen’s Bend, with Ka To hitting the wall while Dahlgren was able to continue.

The team today announced that the damage sustained in the accident was too severe to repair on site and that the Hong Kong driver, who escaped unharmed from the incident, would take no further part in the weekend.

Also announced today was that Volkswagen SLR driver Benjamin Leuchter has had an engine change following his incident in the Q1 session of yesterday, but escapes a grid penalty due to force majeure.
