Thed Björk over the moon after securing his best qualifying result of 2021

Thed Björk thanked his team following the FIA World Touring Car Cup qualifying at Motorland Aragón after securing his so far best qualifying result of the 2021 WTCR season with second place.

“It feels so good to be in Q3 and to be fighting for the pole position,” Björk explained after the session.

The Swede has had a tough start to the 2021 season with sixth in the first race at Estoril as his so far best finish, currently placed 11th overall.

“It was an almost perfect result today and I brought the feeling from FP1 right through the qualifying,” said Björk.

Björk also received one bonus place on the reversed grid for the first race as Jean-Karl Vernay was penalised, starting eighth instead of ninth.

“We are looking forward to the races tomorrow. I have a good feeling and I want to thank the team for a strong car,” said Björk.
