Frédéric Vervisch: “It’s all in tomorrow”

2021 WTCR title candidate Frédéric Vervisch had a tough qualifying session at Sochi, only managing the ninth fastest time. The Audi driver will however start second for the reversed grid race and says he is going “all in”.

“It’s all in tomorrow, [I’m] looking forward to that,” said Vervisch, who trails points leader Yann Ehrlacher by 37 points.

The Audi drivers showed strong pace in the dry first practice session, only for them to drop down the order as the rain started to fall.

“We expected more definitely after the strong pace in the dry from my team-mates. We had a difficult day,” said Vervisch.

Thanks to the reversed grid, the Comtoyou Racing team occupies the front row for the first race with Vervisch’s team-mate Gilles Magnus on the reversed grid pole position.

“I’m at the end quite happy that we are in the top ten and tomorrow that we start P2 next to Gilles,” said Vervisch.

“So, we still have a good chance to mark good points which is very important. It’s all to play for.”
