17 full-season entries locked in for 2022 WTCR season

The FIA World Touring Car Cup organisation has confirmed 17 full-season entries for the 2022 season which starts next weekend at Pau-Ville in France.

The number is down from 20 full-season entries in 2021 and 2020, with 2019 making the so far biggest grid with 26 full-season entries.

This year will feature five entries from Lynk & Co, four from Audi and Honda, two from Hyundai and Cupra.

Changes compared to 2021 includes one additional Lynk & Co for Ma Qing Hua, while Hyundai have reduced its line-up from four to two cars with BRC Racing Team, as have Cupra through the two-car Zengő Motorsport entry.

The entry list also confirms that Münnich Motorsport will continue to run Hondas in the WTCR, fielding two of the Civics alongside former Hyundai squad Team Engstler’s two.

While not yet confirmed, there are single-race wild card entries expected throughout the season.
