Fernando Monje on top in final Slovakia practice

Fernando Monje was fastest again in the final session ahead of this afternoon’s qualifying session for Round 2 of the FIA European Touring Car Cup at the Slovakiaring.

Monje’s best time of 2:17.109 was the fastest time in the session, with the increasing track temperature continuing to see laptimes increase as the day goes on. The SUNRED Engineering SEAT León TDI was 1.5 seconds faster than SUNRED team-mate Michal Matĕjovský, with Stian Paulsen’s SEAT León Supercopa in third.

Patrick Nemec made it an all SEAT top four, with fellow Slovakian driver Mat’o Homola the best non-SEAT in fifth in the Homola Motorsport BMW 320si.

Nikolay Karamyshev was the fastest Super Production car in ninth, just one spot ahead of his sole class rival Aleksander Tosic.

Kevin Krammes was again the fastest Super 1600 driver in 11th in the Ravenol Team GENA Ford Fiesta, leading the other Fiestas of Ravenol Team SAN’s Paulo Necchi & Ulrike Krafft.

Petr Fulín, who was fastest in the first test session this morning with the best time seen today of 2:15.538 in the Krenek Motorsport BMW 320si, did not take part in the session.

Qualifying takes place at 16:00 CET.
