Ibrahim Okyay back in the ETCC for 2013

Turkish touring car star Ibrahim Okyay returns to the FIA European Touring Car Cup in a bid for the 2013 title, driving the Borusan Otomotiv Motorsport-run BMW 320si.

Okyay has been a regular in the World Touring Car Championship and European Touring Car Cup in recent years. The 43-year-old competed in the full 2008 WTCC season and in two rounds in 2011, then competing in the Jay-Ten Trophy where he took two class victories.

Okyay last raced in the ETCC in 2011 when the Cup was just a single event at the Salzburgring in Austria, though he was taken out on the opening lap in the second race in the severe conditions.

Borosan Otomotiv Motorsport competed in the full European Touring Car Cup season last year, entering one car for Aytac Biter, who went on to finish fifth in the Super 2000 category’s standings with a best finish of sixth at the season finale at Imola.
