Johannes Leidinger swoops to pole at Oschersleben

Liqui Moly Team Engstler driver Johannes Leidinger has taken a comfortable pole position for the opening round of the 2013 ADAC Procar Series at Oschersleben.

The 2011 series’ champion set a time of 1:47.095 around the German circuit near Magdeburg, over 2.5 seconds clear of his closest competitor, the Swiss driver Markus Huggler in the Huggler Motorsport BMW 320i E46.

Leidinger’s team-mate Michael Bräutigam was third fastest in the sister BMW 320si E90, whilst Guido Thierfelder was fourth fastest in the Super 1600 specification Peugeot 207 Sport, outqualifying the struggling BMWs of Jens Weimann and Ardi van der Hoek.

Ralf Glatzel was Thierfelder’s closest rival in the S1600 class, qualifying in seventh overall with David Griessner third in class in the second of ETH Tuning’s two Peugeots.

The first race takes place at 9:25 CET on Sunday, with the result from race one setting the grid for race two which starts at 15:35.
