Weimann wins second Oschersleben race ahead of Leidinger
Jens Weimann won the second ADAC Procar Series race of the day at Oschersleben, just six tenths of a second ahead of Johannes Leidinger who closed in towards the end of the race.
Pole man and race one winner Markus Huggler made the best start, but his lead lasted only for three corners. Weimann found his way past Huggler quickly and pulled up a gap.
The safety car was brought out on the second lap as S1600 class driver Michael Kowalski spun off in to the barriers and came to a halt on track.
As the safety car was brought in on lap five, Leidinger was quick to get past Huggler and start his hunt on Weimann in the lead. The Liqui Moly Team Engstler driver was faster than Weimann and seemed to be within striking distance on the last lap. But he was not able to get past as the leading duo had to lap four S1600 driver in the final corners.
Huggler held on to the final podium position in third, despite hard pressure from Michael Bräutigam in the final half of the race. Ardi van der Hoek was fifth and final S2000 driver, far from the top four drivers.
David Griessner won the S1600 class in his Peugeot ahead of race one winner Ralf Glatzel in second and Andreas Rinke in third for ETH Tuning.
The championship continues at Spa Francorchamps on May 10-12th.
