Pergusa confirmed as host of next ETCC meeting

The second Italian round of the 2013 FIA European Touring Car Cup has been confirmed as the Pergusa circuit near Enna, Sicily.

The circuit which runs around the outside of a lake on the Italian island hosted rounds of the FIA European Touring Car Championship in 2002 and 2003, and recently began hosting motorsport events again after a period of redevelopment, including the Superstars Series finale in 2012.

The circuit will host rounds 7 and eight of this season’s ETCC on July 14th, the first of the series’ two standalone events away from the World Touring Car Championship.

“We are very pleased to return to Pergusa,” ETCC General Manager Marcello Lotti.

“We have good memories of our previous visits. This is an old-fashioned circuit that requires drivers to be brave, especially in jumping at full speed over the kerbs in the chicanes. I am confident they will provide some close racing there.”
