Broken vertebrae for Christian Fischer after test crash

Liqui Moly Team Engstler’s Christian Fischer will take no further part in this weekend’s activity at the Salzburgring after breaking one of his vertebrae in a high-speed crash in testing yesterday.

The 42-year-old Swiss driver crashed out at Turn 10 during the first one hour test session on Friday in his BMW 320si E90.

Fischer was returning to the ETCC after missing the last meeting at the Slovakiaring, and had been second in the S2000 standings after a good first event at Monza.
