Petr Fulín fastest in first test session at Brno

Krenek Motorsport’s Petr Fulín led the way in the first one hour test session for the FIA European Touring Car Cup season finale at his home track of Brno. Fulín finishead ahead of his Czech team-mate Michal Matĕjovský and title rival Mat’o Homola in the test.

Fulín’s best lap was over six-tenths of a second clear in his BMW 320si as the Czech driver chases his first ETCC title this weekend at his home race. His only challenger for the Super 2000 title, won last year by WTCC graduate Fernando Monje, is the 19-year-old Slovakian Mat’o Homola, who was third fastest in the session, 1.5 seconds behind.

French driver Aurélien Comte, still in contention for the Single-Make Trophy title was fourth fastest overall for Galaxy Racing, ahead of the Zengõ Junior Team car of Ferenc Ficza Jnr, with class points leader Mario Dablander third in the Target Competition SEAT.

Team Lux Motor’s Gilles Bruckner was fastest of all in the Super 1600 class driving a Ford Fiesta ST, and 21st fastest overall, just two-tenths of a second ahead of Kevin Krammes, who has already secured the class title with his Ravenol Team GENA Ford Fiesta.

Although the S1600 title has already been decided, with Krammes securing the title at Pergusa in July, the S2000 title is a one-on-one fight between Fulín and Homola this weekend, whilst six drivers are in contention for the Single-Make Trophy (SEAT) class title this weekend at Brno.
