Petr Fulín leads rival Mat’o Homola in final practice

Petr Fulín was just ahead of title rival Mat’o Homola in the final practice session at Brno in the Czech Republic for the final round of the 2013 FIA European Touring Car Cup this morning.

The Czech driver’s best lap of 2:13.274 was slower than his pace from the second test session on Friday, but still good enough to set the fastest time. Fulín’s Krenek Motorsport BMW 320si was just under three-tenths of a second than Homola’s in the identical BMW of Homola Motorsport.

Third fastest and fastest of the Single-Make Trophy cars was the Hungarian driver Ferenc Ficza, who has been fast in every session in the Zengõ Motorsport SEAT León Supercopa, with Aurélien Comte just under four-tenths behind him in fourth in the Galaxy Racing SEAT.

Michal Matĕjovský was fifth fastest overall and the third quickest of the Super 2000 runners in his Krenek BMW, almost half a second clear of Serbian driver Dušan Borković’s NIS Petrol Racing Chevrolet Cruze LT.

Borković was followed by four of the SEAT drivers who are all in contention for the Single-Make Trophy title, with Jordi Oriola leading Andreas Pfister, Anton Ladygin and Nikolay Karamyshev to round out the top ten.

Gilles Bruckner was again fastest in the Super 1600 class in his Team Lux Motor Ford Fiesta, going almost a second faster than Ulrike Krafft’s Ravenol Team SAN Ford in the class, whilst already confirmed S1600 champion Kevin Krammes was fourth fastest in the classification behind the Italian driver Romeo Luciano.

Qualifying takes place at 13:10 CET this afternoon.
