Milovan Vesnić plans ETCC entry in 2014 with a BMW

37-year-old Serbian driver Milovan Vesnić plans to enter next year’s FIA European Touring Car Cup with a BMW 320si, run by ASK Sport Auto Vesnić.

The former Renault Clio V6 Cup competitor and 2013 FIA Central European Zone Trophy <2000cc class champion has bought the ex-RBM BMW 320si used by Andy Priaulx, and more recently raced by Swiss-driver Milenko Vukovic in the German ADAC Procar Series, ready for competition in next year's ETCC. Vesnić follows in the footsteps of fellow Serbian and FIA European Hill Climb rival Dušan Borković, who finished third in this year's ETCC competing in first a SEAT León TFSI and later a Chevrolet Cruze LT, both run by NIS Petrol Racing Team. Borković is understood to be planning to return in next year's ETCC with a new car. This year's ETCC featured five events, three of which were run as support races to the FIA World Touring Car Championship, and the plans for next year's ETCC are much the same, though the calendar and class structure is yet to be formally announced. It's understood that cars conforming to Super 2000 Appendix J Article 263 2011 will be permitted from next year, in other words the 1.6 turbocharged cars which are currently being used in the WTCC.
