Norbert Nagy to step-up to S2000 class with a Cruze

Hungarian driver Norbert Nagy will contest this year’s FIA European Touring Car Cup in the Super 2000 class with the Chevrolet Cruze LT used by Dusan Borkovic in the last half of 2013, after racing in the Single-Make Trophy category with the Zengo Junior team in a SEAT León Supercopa last season.

Nagy finished seventh in the SMT category last season behind the wheel of the orange and black SEAT León, and will now compete with the MGS Racing team in a normally aspirated Chevrolet Cruze, built by RML for the 2009 WTCC season and, until it was acquired by NIS Petrol Racing Team mid-last season for Borkovic, was owned by Tech-Speed Motorsport in the UK.

“The 2013 year was a learning period for me to get to know the tracks and the racing style in the ETCC,” said Nagy to wtccblog.hu. “I’m looking forward to the driving the Chevrolet Cruze on the track and I look forward to the season with great expectations.”

So far, Milovan Vesnic has confirmed his plans to race in the S2000 class in a BMW 320si, with Krenek Motorsport also set to field a pair of BMW 320sis for Michal Matejovsky and an as-yet undisclosed driver.

Series regulars Liqui Moly Team Engstler are also set to run a pair of BMWs, after competing with Roland Hertner and Christian Fischer last season.
