Igor Skuz leads wet morning warm-up at Paul Ricard

Campos Racing’s Igor Skuz was fastest in the 15 minute warm-up session ahead of today’s two FIA European Touring Car Cup races at Paul Ricard on a wet track. The Ukrainian just pipped the TC2-class Alfa Romeo of Norbert Kiss in the final minute of the session.

The Ukrainian, who starts from the front row for race one behind team-mate Nikolay Karamyshev for the first race at 10:00 CET, was just 88-thousandths of a second faster than Kiss’s normally aspirated Alfa Romeo 156.

The cars were nearly 20 seconds off of the pace that they had set in qualifying yesterday, with light rain continuing to hit the circuit throughout the session.

Franz Engstler was third fastest in the Liqui Moly Team Engstler BMW 320 TC (TC2T class), with Petr Fulín fourth in the Krenek Motorsport BMW 320si (TC2 class).

Pole sitter Nikolay Karamyshev was fifth, 1.5 seconds off the pace of Skuz.

Andreas Pfister was the fastest of the Single-Make Trophy class SEATs in sixth, while Erwin Lukas was the fastest of the S1600 class cars in 25th overall in his Ravenol Team Ford Fiesta.

29 cars took part in the session, the only car not taking part PCR Sport’s Urs Sonderegger.
