Prize money and revised class structure announced for 2015 ETCC

The FIA European Touring Car Cup organisation has announced a revised class structure and prize money of 250 000 € for the 2015 season.

“The ETCC is set for another successful season with an unrivalled prize fund of 250,000 Euros, one additional race meeting, plus continued coverage on Eurosport. With running budgets carefully managed, the ETCC is a truly affordable international touring car series featuring a diverse grid of cars and drivers of varying levels of experience,” said François Ribeiro, Director of Operations, Eurosport Events.

The Single Make Trophy class has been changed to be exclusively for the SEAT Leon Cup Racer, while the TCT2 class remains unchanged for 1.6 litre turbocharged cars as headline class. The TC2 class, for naturally aspirated 2.0 litre cars, and the S16000 class, for 1.6 naturally aspirated 1.6 litre cars, remain unchanged as well.

A minor change has been made to the race format where the races will be of 20 minutes instead of 50 kilometer. Each race weekend features testing, free practice, qualifying and two races.
