Broken suspension ends Andreas Pfister’s charge at the Hungaroring

German driver Andreas Pfister had a troubled start to the 2015 FIA European Touring Car Cup, with broken suspension at the end of the first race forcing a conservative run in race two as a points gathering exercise, but the two-time ETCC Single-Make Trophy runner-up driver hopes to bounce back at the Slovakiaring next month.

“The broken suspension on the last lap of the first race was not in our plan, so I am happy to rescue third place,” said Pfister. “We did everything to fix it for race two, but we did only a safe run to collect 2 points.

“I am happy with our speed in qualifying with only one-tenth of a second away from pole position,” he added.

The next round of the Cup takes place at the Slovakiaring near Bratislava on June 21st, again supporting the WTCC, where the 27-year-old German has the enviable record of having secured the class victory on all six occasions that the ETCC has been there.
