Fredrik Lestrup wins again at the Salzburgring

Swedish driver Fredrik Lestrup has continued his domination of the ADAC Procar Series Division 1 class with his sixth win from seven races in his Besaplast Team MINI JCW at the Austrian Salzburgring circuit. Lestrup now leads the standings with 70 points, 21 ahead of last year’s champion Heiko Hammel.

Lestrup won the first race of the weekend with a seven second gap over the Renault Clio of Milenko Vukovic, with team-mate Franjo Kovac completing the podium.

Hammel retired from the race after four laps with a boost problem on his Wolf Racing Ford Fiesta, and lost critical ground in the championship as a result. He still holds on to second place, but is just 12 points ahead of Johannes Leidinger in the points, who finished fourth in the race.

In the Division 2 class, Andreas Rinke scored his second win of the season in the Citroën Saxo of ETH Tuning, almost seven seconds clear of Division 2 points leader Ralf Glatzel’s Ford Focus.

In Division 3, the win went to Steve Kirsch, who has now won every race in the MINI Challenge class this season and has a 39 point lead over Bernhard Wagner.

The second race of the weekend takes place on Sunday 26th July at 13:30 CET.
