ETCC reveals new brand identity for 2016 season

The FIA European Touring Car Cup has revealed its new logo and colour scheme for the 2016 season, the 12th season of the series which was launched in 2005 following the birth of its “bigger brother”, the World Touring Car Championship.

The 2016 ETCC, which will start at Paul Ricard, France on April 3rd, before racing in Slovakia, Germany, Portugal, Magny-Cours and Imola, now has a logo which has been developed by the FIA’s merchandising and retail department in Geneva, using cues from the World Endurance Championship, Formula E and Formula 3’s design style.

The ETCC will introduce TCN2 (based on TCR’s technical regulations) as its new shared top tier, effectively replacing the Single-Make Trophy (SEAT León Cup Racer) and they will compete with TC2T and TC2 cars (2005-2013 WTCC spec Super 2000 cars), maintaining Super 1600 as the low-cost entry tier for 2016.
