Christjohannes Schreiber leads testing in Slovakia

Krenek Motorsport’s Christjohannes Schreiber led the way in the first session of testing at Slovakiaring. The Swiss broke the 2’13 barrier with 20 minutes to go, leaving championship leader Petr Fulin down in second place after the Czech had led most of the session, despite a minor off which caused no more than yellow flags at turn 13.

Mladen Lalusic finished third for ASK Lein Racing ahead of Zengo Motorsport’s Norbert Nagy, with Fabio Mota in fifth for Lema Racing.

Peter Rikli was the first non-SEAT driver in the field with sixth, passing his team-mate Kris Richard with a handful of minutes to go in the Honda Civic TCR. Wolfgang Kriegl finished in eighth ahead of Igor Stefanovski, while Niklas Mackschin completed the top ten by setting the best time in the S1600 class, which he leads, in his Ravenol Motorsport Ford Fiesta.

Several S1600 drivers elected not to go out in this first session, including Andrii Ievtushenko, who sits joint second in the championship.

The FIA ETCC will return to the track at 14.40 local time for a second testing session, lasting one hour.
