Petr Fulín wins Race 1 at the Nordschleife

Krenek Motorsport’s Petr Fulín converted pole position into victory at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, winning the race in his SEAT León TCR by just a tenth of a second ahead of the Rikli Honda Civic of Kris Richard.

The two diced throughout the race as they had in qualifying, with Fulín holding the upper hand in his León TCR to take his third win of the season and retake the championship lead from Swiss driver Peter Rikli who had to start from the back of the field.

Sébastien Loeb Racing had a competitive debut with the new Peugeot 308 Racing Cup, with Teddy Clairet finishing on the podium just 12 seconds behind the leading pair, with team-mate David Pouget fourth just behind him.

Peter Rikli recovered from the back of the grid to finish fifth in his Honda Civic, ahead of the two León TCRs of Christjohannes Schreiber and Fabio Mota, with Mladen Lalusic eighth and securing the reversed grid pole position.

In the Super 1600 class, David Griessner secured victory, leading an ETH Tuning Peugeot 1-2 with Andreas Rinke second, but the Austrian was excluded from taking part in the following race due to a noise issue with his 207 Sport, while championship leader Nicklas Mackschin retired due to contact.
