Pierre-Yves Corthals posts video of Michelisz crash

DG Sport Opel driver Pierre-Yves Corthals has sent TouringCarTimes an onboard video from his car from the start of Race 4 at Mettet, which the collision which saw him retire from the race.

Corthals was fighting for the lead with Norbert Michelisz’s Boutsen Ginion Honda on the first lap, and tried to tackle the Hungarian at Turn 5 (Saarinen), making light contact with the rear of the Honda on the way into the corner. The two then made contact at the exit, with Corthals propelled across the banking and sustaining heavy damage, while Michelisz went on to win the race.

Corthals view was that Michelisz deliberately tapped the rear corner of his car and placed him into a spin, while Michlisz reported that Corthals turned across on him.
