Serbian team enters an Audi RS 3 LMS for the 2017 ETCC

Serbian team Vesnic & GM Racing has announced the entry of a TCR specification Audi RS 3 LMS for the 2017 FIA European Touring Car Cup.

“We have lots of experience now and victory in the last race of 2016 supporting Igor Stefanovski has given us the belief that we can continue in the same way in 2017,” said Milovan Vesnic, team chief and engineer. “With the new Audi we believe that’s going to be possible.”

The team cooperated with Lein Racing during the 2016 ETCC season, claiming one win in the season finale at Imola with driver Igor Stefanovski.

Vesnic & GM Racing is currently negotiationing with potential drivers for the 2017 season and is expecting to start testing at the end of February when the new Audi will be delivered. The team has also stated its intention for a potential expansion to two cars later this year.

“It’s great news that Vesnic & GM Racing’s commitment to the ETCC will continue, but it’s even better news that the team is shifting up a gear in 2017,” said François Ribeiro, head of Eurosport Events.
