Rikli Motorsport sign Christjohannes Schreiber for 2017 ETCC season

Rikli Motorsport has signed Christjohannes Schreiber for the 2017 European Touring Car Cup season.

“It’s a great pleasure to represent a Swiss team as a Swiss driver in the ETCC,” said Schreiber.

The 27-year-old will drive a TCN2 specification Honda Civic with fellow countryman Peter Rikli as team-mate.

“It makes me very proud and it feels like a ‘national team’ in such an international business. Until now I have not been able to test the Honda but I expect quite a difference from the SEAT I raced last year and never felt as confident in as is necessary for me. I’m convinced that I will return stronger to the ETCC than I was last year,” said Schreiber.

Schreiber made his ETCC debut last year for Krenek Motorsport, finishing eighth overall with one podium finish and has previously driven one-make championships like Renault Clio Cup in Europe.

Team-mate and team owner Rikli finished fourth overall last season and will start his eighth ETCC season this year in the first race at Monza on April 28-30th.

“I have good memories of my races in Italy, where I have collected great results since my early days in the sport. This is why I always like driving on the Formula One track,” said Rikli.
