Plamen Kralev tops wet practice in Hungary

Kraf Racing’s Plamen Kralev was fastest of all in a fully-wet 45-minute practice session at the Hungaroring ahead of this afternoon’s qualifying session, topping the time sheets in his Audi RS 3 LMS by just under half a second ahead of Rikli Honda driver Peter Rikli.

Kralev set his best lap time as the circuit conditions began to slightly improve, after heavy rain fell during the start of the session, with the times well off the pace from yesterday morning’s first test session held in the dry.

Kralev lost one of his best lap due to a track limits violation at Turn 4, with LEIN SEAT driver Fabio Mota also losing two of his laps, but the Portuguese driver’s best lap was good enough for third.

Mota was only demoted by Rikli in the final seconds, as the Honda Civic TCN2 driver made a last-minute improvement, the only other driver in the 2:09s.

Norbert Nagy and Zsolt Szabo were fourth and fifth fastest in the Zengo SEATs, with championship leader Christjohannes Schreiber sixth in his Honda Civic.

ETCC returnee Alexandr Artemyev was seventh in his Baport SEAT ahead of Krenek SEAT’s Petr Fulín, with the SEATs of Igor Stefanovski and Andreas Pfister completing the top ten.
