Jaap van Lagen fastest in first practice at Zandvoort

Certainty Racing Team were fastest of all on their TCR Benelux series debut at Zandvoort, with Jaap van Lagen and co-driver Simon Reicher topping the time sheets in their Audi RS 3 LMS, over half a second clear of Team WRT’s Sam Dejonghe and Denis Dupont.

Van Lagen, who just last week was in action with WRT in their Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR in the International Series, was fastest by six-tenths of a second ahead of Dejonghe/Dupont in the single one-hour practice session.

In third place was the #2 Boutsen Ginion Honda Civic of Benjamin Lessennes and new co-driver Tom Coronel, eight-tenths behind.

Just over a second off the pace was the SEAT León TCR of Danny Kroes and Pepe Oriola, driving for Ferry Monster Autosport, ahead of the Delahaye Volkswagen of Guillaume Mondron, joined by TCR International Series regular Giacome Altoe this weekend.

Certainty’s second-best Audi was in sixth, driven by Dillon Koster and Bernhard van Oranje, ahead of the Bas Koeten Audi of Willem Meijer and Paul Sieljes.

Maxime Potty and Mathieu Detry were eighth fastest in the Team WRT Volkswagen, with DG Sport Peugeot pair of Aurélien Comte and Kevin Abbring, and the Bas Koeten Audi of Mika Morien and Stan van Oord completing the top ten, with 17 cars entered for the second round of the series, 12 in the TCR class, four in the Renault Clio Cup class.
