Engström confirms ETC Cup entry

Tomas Engström is the second driver from the Swedish Touring Car Championship to confirm his participation in the ETC Cup at Estoril. He will drive the same Honda Accord he used in the STCC this year and hopes to do well in the upcoming race in Portugal.

“It will be really good fun to drive the Europe final. Estoril is a track that I have driven before and I like it,” Engström said.

Engström finished fifth in the STCC drivers championship with four podium finishes. The decision to participate in ETC Cup came during the final STCC race at Mantorp.

“We took the decision at the final and I got a lot of good response from my sponsors and partners. This race will give us a good proof of how we are compared to international competition,” Engström said.

This makes it nine confirmed entries so far. The official entry list for the race is expected to be released soon as the last date for entries is on the 13:th of October.
