STCC-drivers hungry for ETC

The so far only confirmed STCC driver for ETC Cup at Estoril in October is Carl Rosenblad. During the final STCC-race some other drivers revealed that they are very close to a decision for the race. As we speculated earlier the drivers are from BMW, Honda and perhaps even Audi.

“It is up to Audi Germany. But I have started to work hard on them today after the championship victory today,” said Sven-Åke Enochsson from Audi Sweden with a smile.

West Coast Racing-driver Duncan Huisman was eager to get some of his fellow STCC-driver to drive the ETC Cup. During the press conference of Mantorp Park he said:

“Come on Thed (Björk), now you must go to ETC Cup and prove that you are quickest in Europe also with your Audi,” Huisman said.

Thed Björk replied:

“I would very much like to do that race, but it is up to Audi,” Björk said.

Two other drivers also pretty much confirmed their entry in the race – Richard Göransson and Tomas Engström.

“Nothing is confirmed yet, but it looks good. I think there is a 99% chance that we will go there,” Göransson said.

Same thing goes for Honda-driver Tomas Engström.

“Well, it is one or two days too early yet to say something. But it looks very good and we will make an announcement shortly,” Engström said.

West Coast Racing that won the ETC Cup last year with Richard Göransson behind the wheel is also still working on the last details.

“We are working hard on the budget. It is not easy to raise this kind of money. But I think the decision will come soon and I would really like to do that race,” West Coast Racing-driver Robin Rudholm said.
