Engström confirms ETC Cup entry

The Swedish Touring Car Championship Honda-driver Tomas Engström has confirmed his participation in the 2008 FIA ETC Cup. The Swede wants revenge after his slow STCC-season.
“As a team we have done well this year, but my STCC-season has been one of my worst and that inspires me to go to the ETC Cup and challenge the best drivers in Europe,” said Engström.

Engström took part in the ETC Cup last year when he won the first race and finished fourth in the second.

“That was partially the ground for us to expand to a two-car team in the STCC 2008. Our results in STCC 2007 were a bit mediocre, but we made good results abroad which made Honda interested in expanding our team,” said Engström.

But team mate Thed Björk, who finished third in the STCC 2008, will not take part in the ETC Cup 2008.
