Göransson sets pace at Salzburgring

Reigning Swedish Touring Car Champion set the pace in the second test session of the FIA European Touring Car Cup at Salzburgring in Austria.
“I have a good feeling! We have only just started with the work on the setup, but so far the speed is there,” said Göransson.

On the contrary to the first test session, this session stayed dry. Franz Engstler, who topped the first session, was second fastest, half a second behind Göransson.

Tomas Engström in the Honda Sweden-prepared Accord stopped a total BMW-domination of top five in third. Jan Nilsson and Kristian Poulsen occupied fourth and fifth respectively, both driving BMW 320si.

Jens Reno Möller was sixth fastest ahead of Oscar Nogués in the SEAT Léon. Nogues suffered from engine problems in the first session and spent a lot of time in the pit garage.

Newly crowned Finnish champion Mikko Eskelinen was ninth fastest ahead of George Tanev.

One test session remains of the day, starting at 15.45 CET.
