Michelisz is the first confirmed entry

The first confirmed entry for the European Touring Car Cup of 2009 is Norbert Michelisz. The Hungarian won participation in the race thanks to his SEAT Léon Eurocup 2009 title. Michelisz is going to drive a SEAT Léon for the team SUNRED Engineering.

The 24 year old Michelisz won the SEAT Eurocup after taking five victories and scoring a total of 68 points, 13 more than his closest rival: Massimiliano Pedalá.

Last year Oscar Nogués was the champion and took part in the ETC Cup where he finished second overall behind champion Michel Nykjær.

So far no other entries have been confirmed for the race. According to our information reigning ETC Cup champion Nykjær is going to take part in the race while it looks like his main compettitors from the Swedish Touring Car Championship is not going to take part in the race this year.

The STCC Volvo team was at first reported to take part in the race but has to TouringCarTimes confirmed that they are not going to take part in the race.
