Michelisz tops first practice at Braga

Diesel SEAT driver Norbert Michelisz topped the first official practice session of the European Touring Car Cup at Braga in Potugal. The SUNRED Engineering driver was six tenths faster than local SEAT driver Francisco Carvalho. James Thompson was third fastest, over a second behind Michelisz.

Double ETC Cup champion Michel Nykjaer was fourth fastest ahead of Swedish Honda driver Tomas Engström.

Engström was followed by fellow Honda driver Per Poulsen in sixth.

Sole BTCC entry Harry Vaulkhard was seventh fastest, almost two seconds behind Michelisz, with WTCC privateer Franz Engstler in eight.

Duarte Fèlix da Costa and Urmas Kitsing rounded off top ten.

Only ten S2000 cars were present on the track during the session, three cars were missing from the entry list: José Pedro Fontes and the two Maurer Motorsport driver Vincent Radermecker and José Monroy.
