ETC Cup to become a mini-series

The FIA have published details on changes to the ETC Cup for 2010 – with it now being a four event series in Germany, Portugal, Italy & Austria.

The tracks to be used will be unveiled at the WTCC season finalé at Macau.

Marcello Lotti explained the reason for the change:

“A series of four events will help to cover the whole European territory, making it easier for the teams to take part in all or selected events. The aim is also to strengthen the ties between the National Championships that adopt the FIA technical regulations”.

Cars eligible to compete are those running to Super 2000, Super 1600 or FIA Super Production specification as have been permitted in the ETC Cup events recently.
