James Thompson flies to Braga pole position
While shattering the S2000 lap record by 2.1 seconds, James Thompson claimed pole position for the first European Touring Car Cup race of the year at Braga. The Brit claimed pole ahead of two BMW-drivers: Kristian Poulsen and César Campaniço.
The times were really close in the top three with Poulsen being beaten by just 0.071 seconds and Campaniço with 0.154 seconds.
Michaël Rossi claimed fourth position, ahead of Thompson’s team mate Tomas Engström, both being beaten by over half a second by Thompson.
Marin Čolak, who topped the free practice earlier today, dropped to sixth position ahead of fellow SEAT-driver Timur Sadredinov.
