Cesar Campaniço will miss Salzburgring

Cesar Campaniço, who currently is second in the championship, is not going to take part in the FIA European Touring Car Cup race at Salzburgring. The Portuguese misses the race because of a clashing GT test in Portugal.

Whether Campaniço is going to take part in the final round of the ETCC is not set either, that depends on how his opponents perform while he is absent.

“My participation in the third race is going to depend on how my opponents do in Salzburgring. So, my only remaining BMW race this year could be in the final round of ETCC,” said Campaniço to Sportmotores.es.

This means that the top two drivers of the championship are going to be absent for the coming race. Championship leader James Thompson split earlier this year with Hartmann Honda.
