Hartmann Honda ready to defend championship lead
Hartmann Honda Racing with driver James Thompson is out to defend the championship lead in the FIA ETC Cup race at Salzburgring in two weeks.
“It would be very much disappointed if we do not perform and defend our championship lead,” said team boss Hans Hartmann.
“We got a really good start of the season in Portugal when we won one race and finished third in the second, we are going to continue on that.”
The very fast Salzburgring track should suit the Honda Accord and the team has got newly prepared engines ready for the race.
“Last time we were on track, the Honda was fastest, that despite with an engine that was not optimal. The car that James is going to drive has got a newly renovated engine from Neil Brown in England,” said Hartmann.
It is not clear yet wether Thompson is going to get a team mate at Salzburgring.
“We have had inquiries from several potential drivers for the second car, but we do not have anything concrete in place at the moment,” said Hartmann.
