Leidinger & Spengler share wins at Assen

Liqui-Moly Team Engstler Junior drivers Johannes Leidinger & Florian Spengler took race victories at Assen, to jump into a joint-series lead.

Leidinger took victory in race one, finishing the 11 lap race just under two seconds ahead of team mate Spengler, whilst Hertner, who had started on pole, passed the finish line back in sixth for the first race.

In race two, Hertner could only go one better, whilst this time it was Florian Spengler’s turn to take victory in the older 320i E46 BMW, just ahead of the identical E46 entered by Tsunami RT for this race for Andrii Kruglyk.

Leidinger finished third, which propels the two junior drivers to a joint championship lead on 59 points each – two points ahead of Roland Hertner.

Oliver Mayer, who won last time out, completed the podium in his Audi A4 in the first race.

In Division 2, Guido Thierfelder took the win in race one in his Peugeot 207 Sport, whilst Ralf Glatzel won the second race in the Ford Fiesta ST.

Division 3 victories were shared by Andreas Kast & Alf Ahrens, both racing the Renault Clio.
