Romanov makes five Engstler cars at Lausitz

The ADAC Procar series gets underway again this weekend at the EuroSpeedway, with Liqui-Moly Team Engstler adding an unprecendented fifth car for WTCC regular Andrei Romanov, in support of their battle to claim their third title.

Liqui-Moly Engstler drivers occupy the top three positions in the championship, with Roland Hertner moving back ahead of his two junior team mates after a strong weekend at a very wet Salzburgring.

Hertner now leads Johannes Leidinger by three points, whilst the two Engstler teams, entered as Liqui-Moly Engstler & Junior seperately have a dominant position in the teams’ championship.

The team picked up a 1-2-3-4 finish in the second race at Salzburg, but then suffered a disaster as Russian driver Rustem Teregulov, who had also entered the FIA European Touring Car Cup race that weekend, span off in practice totalling his BMW 320si.

Teregulov is back this weekend, and will be joined by countryman Andrei Romanov, currently in his second full season in the WTCC. Romanov is also an experienced driver in ADAC Procar, finishing sixth in the series last year whilst driving a Maurer Motorsport Chevrolet Lacetti.

Yaco Racing will again field their Toyota Auris and Corolla S2000 cars for Russian pairing Oleg Petrishin & Michail Stepanov.

Peter Rikli will be the only representive for Rikli Motorsport in Division 1 in his Honda Civic FD, whilst race winners this year Oliver Mayer & Andrii Kruglyk return in their Audi A4 and BMW 320i E46 cars respectively.
