Geipel takes first win of the year for Yaco

Charlie Geipel, in his first race of 2010 in ADAC Procar, in a brand new Toyota Auris S2000 won race one at Oschersleben, ahead of Peter Rikli’s Honda.

Geipel worked his way up to second at the start, as three Liqui-Moly Engstler cars were caught up in trouble on the first lap, putting Hertner and Leidinger in the pits for repairs, whilst Florian Spengler tried to recover up the field.

Rustem Teregulov led from Geipel and Rikli, but Geipel then fell back with front end damage to his Toyota to third place for the mid part of the race.

In a final charge, Geipel moved ahead of Rikli and then passed Teregulov, with Rikli following through to take Yaco Racing’s first victory of the season, in his first race of the season, in the car’s first race ever.

Peter Rikli also celebrated the best ever result for the Honda Civic FD with second.

Guido Thierfelder won in the Division 2 category, with Andreas Kast first in Division 3.
