James Thompson starts fastest in Italy

James Thompson topped the first test session at Franciacorta in Italy ahead of the final round of the FIA European Touring Car Cup. The Brit was the sole driver to get below 1:17 with the time 1:16.939.

Second fastest was Michel Nykjaer in the diesel SEAT Léon, three tenths behind Thompson.

Tomas Engström made it two Honda Accord’s in the top three with the third fastest time, 0.624 seconds behind his rival Honda-driver.

Ibrahim Okyay was fourth fastest ahead of his team mate Aytac Biter. Peter Rikli and Wolfgang Treml rounded off top seven.
