Two from two for Leidinger at Oschersleben

Liqui Moly Team Engstler driver Johannes Leidinger has lept to the lead of the ADAC Procar series after two consecutive victories at the Oschersleben circuit in Germany.

The 24-year-old made the perfect start from pole in both races and was unchallenged in the BMW 320si, taking a maximum score of 20 points from the weekend.

Rival BMW team Thate Motorsport suffered problems with the car’s generator and retired from both races, which saw the race one podium completed by the two Hondas of Rikli Motorsport, with Christian Fischer’s Honda Accord Euro-R leading Peter Rikli’s Civic FD.

The first race saw the safety car deployed which bunched up the field when Divison 2 driver Saskia Muller rolled her Ford Fiesta ST, with the car unable to take part in the second race.

In race two, it was tha Yaco Racing Toyota team’s turn to complete the podium behind Leidinger, with Michail Stepanov finishing in second place ahead of new team-mate Lorenz Frey, taking a podium on his ADAC Procar debut in the Toyota Auris ahead of Fischer’s Honda, with Peter Rikli rescuing fifth despite a drive train problem.

With no safety car, Leidinger romped away in the BMW, taking the chequered flag 18.950 seconds ahead of Stepanov.

Nils Mierschke won both races in the Division 2 class in the rhino’s Leipert Motorsport Ford Fiesta ST, and assumes a nine point lead over Ulrike Krafft.

In Division 1, Leidinger leads the championship from Yaco Racing’s Michail Stapanov and Rikli Motorsport’s Christian Fischer, who are both tied in second on 13 points

The next round of the championship takes places at the Sachsenring on May 15th.
