Peter Rikli wins first race with the Honda Civic

Peter Rikli took his first victory with the Honda Civic FD his team developed from new last season in race two at the Sachsenring.

The Swiss driver won by just over two seconds from Liqui-Moly Team Engstler driver Johannes Leidinger.

Race one winner Jens Weimann finished third, with Christian Fischer and Michail Stepanov fourth and fifth for Rikli Motorsport and Yaco Racing, the last of the S2000 runners.

In sixth overall, Guido Thierfelder took another Division 2 win, and moves to within three points of D2 leader Nils Mierschke.

Leidinger still leads the championship, but Rikli’s win moves him into second place in the standings, with Leidinger on 36 and Rikli on 25. Rikli’s team-mate Chrisian Fischer is just one point behind in third.

The next race is on June 12th at the Belgian Zolder circuit.
