Johannes Leidinger takes pole position at Zolder
Liqui-Moly Team Engstler driver Johannes Leidinger has claimed pole position at Zolder, with Jens Weimann making it a BMW 1-2 in his Thate Motorsport BMW 320si.
The 24-year-old reigning ‘vice-champion’ set a best time of 1:43.406 in the BMW 320si around the Belgian circuit, just over half a second faster than Weimann in the similar 320si.
It’s an all Swiss and all Rikli Motorsport row two, with Christian Fischer in the Accord qualifying ahead of team boss and team-mate Peter Rikli’s Civic FD.
Michail Stepanov will start fifth in the Yaco Racing Toyota Auris S2000 with Andreas Kast starting sixth in the K&K Motorsport Audi A4.
In the 1.6 litre Division 2 category, the class pole went to Guido Thierfelder in the Peugeot 207 Sport, nine seconds down on Leidinger’s Division 1 pole-sitting BMW.
Ralf Glatzel will start second in class in his Glatzel Racing Ford Fiesta, with Kevin Krammes third in the GENA Autosport Fiesta.
