Leidinger extends points lead with race two victory
Liqui-Moly Team Engstler’s Johannes Leidinger won race two at Zolder and leaves the Belgian circuit with a 20 point lead over Jens Weimann.
After finishing second in race one, Leidinger took the initiative in race two and took his BMW 320si E90 to a clear victory with a 7.4 second lead over Weimann’s Thate Motorsport-run 320si.
Andreas Kast was a surprise third in the K&K Motorsport Audi A4 in a race of high attrition, with only four of the Super 2000 Division 1 class cars finishing the race.
Guido Thierfelder took another victory in Division 2 and heads into the seven week break before the next round at Oschersleben with a one point lead over Leipert Motorsport driver Nils Mierschke.
Leidinger leads the Division 1 points with 54 over Weimann’s 34, with Yaco Racing’s Michail Stepanov now third in the standings on 31, with both Rikli drivers failing to score in race two.
The next round of the championship is on July 31st at Oschersleben where it supports the FIA World Touring Car Championship.
