Weimann wins race one at Zolder

Thate Motorsport driver Jens Weimann won the first race at Zolder from Liqui-Moly Team Engstler driver Johannes Leidinger by less than a second.

The 34-year-old from Preetz took his second victory of the season in his BMW 320si E90, crossing the finish line 0.464s ahead of Leidinger’s BMW.

Swiss driver Christian Fischer rounded out the podium in the Rikli Motorsport Honda Accord Euro R, 15 seconds down on the leading pair, and moves up to second in the championship, 14 points behind Leidinger.

Guido Thierfelder took the win in the Division 2 category in the ETH Tuning Peugeot 207 ahead of Nils Mierschke’s Leipert Motorsport Ford Fiesta and Ralf Glatzel’s Fiesta. Mierschke holds the points lead in D2 by just one point from Thierfelder going into race two.
