Johannes Leidinger wins race one at Red Bull Ring

Liqui-Moly Team Engstler driver Johannes Leidinger has won race one at the Red Bull Ring from Jens-Guido Weimann to further extend his lead in the ADAC Procar series points standings.

Leidinger’s fifth win of the season in round 9 of the championship sees the 24-year-old extend his points lead from Weimann to 24 points, with seven rounds remaining including today’s second race.

The Liqui-Moly Team Engstler driver won comfortably at the AUstrian circuit, leading Weimann to the finish by over nine seconds.

After a great start, Andreas Kast lead the race in the opening stages in his Audi A4, but Leidinger took the lead on lap 5 and started building his lead, with Weimann moving up to second place on 10, with Swiss-driver Peter Rikli completing the podium in his Rikli Motorsport Honda Civic FD.

In Division 2, pole-sitter Nils Mierschke took the class victory from Guido Thierfelder by three seconds, with Kevin Krammes in third.
