Weimann wins race one at Lausitzring
Jens Weimann closed up by two points to Liqui-Moly Team Engstler driver Johannes Leidinger after taking victory in race one at the Lausitzring.
Rikli Motorsport’s Christian Fischer took the lead at the start in his Honda Accord Euro-R, but was passed by Leidinger on lap three with Weimann following through on the next lap. Two laps later, Weimann took Leidinger for the lead and went on to take the victory, crossing the line less than a second ahead of Leidinger.
Andreas Kast also passed Fischer late in the race to claim third in the KK Motorsport Audi A4.
In Division 2, Nils Mierschke took the class victory ahead of Ulrike Krafft, with Ralf Glatzel making it a Ford 1-2-3 in the class. In fact it was a Ford 1-2-3-4-5-6-7, with Guido Thierfelder’s Peugeot finishing in eighth, one lap down.
