Johannes Leidinger takes pole at Assen
Liqui-Moly Team Engstler driver Johannes Leidinger has claimed pole position for the penultimate round of the ADAC Procar Series at Assen, over half a second quicker than Jens Weimann’s Thate BMW in qualifying.
Leidinger’s best lap was 2:05.258 around the 4.5km circuit around the Assen TT circuit, enough to claim the points leader his fifth pole position of the season.
Leidinger leads the championship by 29 points from Weimann, and only has to make sure the gap does not reduce by more than eight points this weekend to claim his first ADAC Procar series drivers title.
Ralf Glatzel took pole position in Division 2 in his Ford Fiesta VCT Sport ahead of Kevin Krammes and Nils Mierschke. Glatzel will line up sixth on the grid as only five cars are entered in the Super 2000 Division 1 class this weekend, with Mattias Kaul, Lorenz Frey and Andreas Kast not competing at Assen.
