ETCC features 26 car entry list for Monza

26 cars will take part in the first round of the 2012 FIA European Touring Car Cup at Monza, supporting the World Touring Car Championship for three events before hosting their own finale at Imola.

The Cup is split into four classes this year, previously having been three, with nine cars entered into the fastest Super 2000 class.

Rikli Motorsport will again enter their two Hondas, a Civic FD for Peter Rikli and an Accord Euro R for Christian Fischer.

The Single Make category features three SEAT León Supercopas for Andreas Pfister, Stian Paulsen and Urs Sonderegger, who raced in the SEAT León Eurocup before racing in the first five rounds of the WTCC for Wiechers-Sport last season.

Super Production will also field three cars with Aleksander Tosic returning to defend his crown in the ASK Vitro Racing Honda Civic Type-R. Former rival Fabio Fabiani and 2011 WTCC Jay-Ten class champion Fabio Fabiani will return in an F Motosport-run BMW 320i E46, with Russian Nikolay Karamyshev racing in a privately entered Honda Civic Type-R.

The most populated class is the S1600 class with 11 cars, with Ravenol Team entering three Ford Fiestas, Maurer Motorsport entering three Chevrolet Aveos and a number of other Ford Fiestas and Fiesta STs being entered.
