Gábor Tim to take part in the warm-up

Gábor Tim’s RCM Motorsport Peugeot 407 will be allowed to take part in the warm-up after missing free practice and qualifying, when the stewards will assess whether to allow him to race.

Although Tim took part in the Thursday test session, the Hungarian driver was only able to set eigth laps in the second hour with a best time of 2:12.173, which is 11 seconds off of pole sitter Fernando Monje’s pace in the SEAT León TDI.

The team has requested permission from the stewards, as has Michael Golz in the NK Racing Team Ford Fiesta to start from the back of the grid, with Golz being granted permission to start, whilst Tim’s warm-up pace will decide whether the stewards allow him to race.

Drivers including Christian Fischer, Aleksander Tosic, Stian Paulsen and Ferenc Ficza picked up minor fines from the stewards from small transgressions, such as crossing the pit lane exit line and not leaving the steering wheel in place.

Pole sitter Fernando Monje was fined 750 EUR for not slowing down for yellow flags, whilst Fabio Fabiani was excluded from the event as the fuel tank on his Super Production class BMW 320i E46 did not conform to the regulations as it was out of date.
